Here’s another “generator” along the lines of the Self-Cutting Generator I wrote about yesterday: The Punk Rock Jacket Generator. An example of its output is shown below:

Adam Riff checks in on the television show Degrassi: The Next Generation and stumbles into this scene:
Emma: My home life sucks!
Damian: Check this out. A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers. He’s my favourite author.
Emma: Wow! You’re the first guy I’ve met who even has a favourite author.
Damian: His life goes haywire and he just…deals.
Emma: I could learn a thing or two from that!
Damian: Call me later. I’d love to hear what you think of the book.
Damian: Still working on the book?
Emma: I’m STAGGERED by its genius!
Damian: Clever…
Emma: Eggers! Eggers! Come!
A dog approaches.
Damian: You got a dog?
Emma: Yeah. I found him on Craigslist. I named him “Eggers.” Maybe we can walk him together!
Two thoughts:
- Someone should notify Dave Eggers. I think he’d get a kick out of this.
- The character of Emma perfectly illustrates the depth to which most people engage literature.

Crotch Rocket
“Crotch rocket” may be a slang term for “motorcycle”, but someone’s decided to make it a little more literal:

That Weird Feeling, Explained

At last, an explanation for that disturbance in the Force that I’ve been sensing all day: Emma Watson, “Hermione” from the Harry Potter films, turns 18 today.
My advice for today: if you’re about to enter a room with a computer and the door is closed, knock first. You will thank me.
I think I’m going to stay the hell away from online chats and discussion boards tonight, as it’s gonna get icky.
For the curious, here are the net worths of the U.S. presidential candidates, as reported in Ramit Sethi’s blog, I Will Teach You to be Rich:

As one wag put it: “Yeah, Obama’s clearly the one we should be pointing out as the elitist candidate.”
