I like this country a lot, but there are a few glaring things that they’ve got ass-backwards. And doesn’t anybody know how to use the word literally anymore?

It’s a working day down here in Tampa and the rest of the United States, but back in Canada, where I’m from, it’s the holiday colloquially known as “May 2-4” (named after May 24th and the Canadian colloquial term for a case of beer), Victoria Day. In honour of the holiday, I thought I’d post a picture of the Queen in her younger years, and post a video featuring some half-remembered Kinks lyrics. Enjoy!

It’s 91ºF (33ºC) as I write this (5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13th) in Accordion Bay, so yes, having a store that like this one, which carries nothing but fans makes complete sense. Our house has those combo ceiling fans/lights in the living room and bedrooms, and I think I have yet to see a home here that doesn’t have at least one.
Someday, I want to have an office with one of these hanging from the ceiling, spinning slowly above my mahogany desk as I work, resplendent in my linen shirt and Panama hat, sipping a Weng Weng cocktail:
