Don’t just watch other people’s adventures

If there’s one message I always wanted to convey in almost 24 years of blogging, accordion playing, and just generally getting around, it’s this:

“Don’t just watch other people’s ADVENTURES.” The illustration depicts an anthropomorphized candle reading scrolls on the floor of their castle tower bedroom, saying “Oh! I wish I did that!”

“Leave your tower!” The candle is shown leaving the tower bedroom by rappelling down the tower wall with the assistance of a rope attached to a hook attached to the tower window opening.

“Make your life a quest.” The candle stands atop a hill, holding a sword high.

“Dare to follow maps you don’t fully understand.” The picture shows a map depicting an ocean, a forest and mountains, held in the candle’s hands.

“Explore untraveled paths within yourself.” The candle has a backpack and sword and is standing in a shallow underground river in a cave full of stalactites and stalagmites.

“Tame your dragon.” The candle is facing a dragon and has a rope tied around the dragon’s snout.

“And I promise you...” The candle is now riding the dragon into the sky over a mountain range.

“...no regrets.” This is the candle’s old room in the tower, now empty, except for scrolls and cobwebs.

I’ll keep posting my adventures here, but make sure you go out and find your own!
