The great declutter sale, part 2: 16GB Zune HD for $30, 32GB Zune HD for $40 – the hippest media players ever!

Viva la heepster revolucion!: Che Guevara holding a Zune HD.

the-great-declutter-saleThe great decluttering continues. I’m getting rid of stuff that I no longer use, but perhaps might be of use for you, and ask only for some money to help me — financially, it’s been a terrible year (long story, which I’ll blog later). It’s your cash, my stuff, everybody wins!

Zune logo.In this installment of The Great Declutter Sale, I’ve got a couple of rare items that are so terribly, terribly uncool and unloved that they will cement your hipster status forever. You will be able to walk through the most painfully hip neighbourhoods — Parkdale in Toronto, “Billyburg” in New York, the Pearl District in Portland — and they will fall down and worship you like a god.

I have not one, but two Zune HDs for sale. One 16GB model, one 32GB model.

Silver and black Zune HDs

With just one of these, The Arcade Fire will call you up and beg you to come to one of their shows. With the both of these, you’ll be able to specify a dress code for them. That’s how powerfully hip these things will make you.

These Zunes weren’t taken out much — I used them primarily for software development purposes. That’s right: you could program them to play games. As a result, they’re in great condition with no scratches on the glass and only the smallest of blemishes on their brushed metal bodies. Each comes with its own Zune HD USB cable, and you can still get the software to connect it to Windows from zune.net, and yes it even runs on Windows 8.

If you want to get your paws on the predecessor of Windows Phone, you want to get your mitts on one, or both of these Zune HDs!

Check out these Zune HD reviews:

  • Engadget: “The first thing you’ll notice — the first thing everyone notices — is just how incredibly sexy the Zune HD is.”
  • Gizmodo: “The Zune HD is the best touchscreen PMP on the market. It’s got the most unique vision, the most impressive hardware and the most stylish software.”
  • PCMag: “With a fantastic OLED touch screen, a top-notch Web browser, and a wireless music store, the Zune HD is the best PMP you can buy—that is, if you live outside the iTunes universe.”
  • Digital Trends: “Make us pick a media player for the next 12 hours on a plane, and we’ll take the Zune HD any day.”
  • Amazon: 4.5 stars!

If you look at Amazon’s used prices, they’re asking asking for over $100 for used Zune HDs. I’m happy to let ’em go for much cheaper: $30 for the 16GB model, $40 for the 32GB one. Each comes with its own Zune HD-specific USB cable. Want one, or both? Drop me a line!
