The Simpsons and “Citizen Kane”

Update: Some quick notes…

  • I didn’t compile or make these images; I found ’em, thought they were neat and posted them for everyone to see.
  • You can find more images like this at Actualidad Simpson.

There are many, many more homages to Citizen Kane in The Simpsons– for example, much of the episode “Rosebud.”

Love the site. These are the Kane references I know of.

Sideshow Bob Roberts
Sideshow Bob also makes his acceptance speech under a giant poster as seen above.

A Streetcar named Marge
Homer with the shredded play bill.

There’s No Disgrace Like Home
The shot of Burn’s Manor

Mr. Plow
The snowglobe during the advert.

Rosebud
When Burns throws his teddy bear Bobo into the snow and later when he drops the snowglobe.

“Wait! You forgot your teddy bear, the symbol of your lost youth and innocence!” – different episode, but it’s all I could think of when I last saw the movie.

Does anybody know where I could find a large picture of Burns at the podium? Its too good and I want to make it a background.

that’s so crazy, before I saw all of this, when I watched the movie, I thought Kane reminded me of Burns.
