It’s Spelled "D-E-F-I-N-I-T-E-L-Y"

I’ve been running into the misspelling “definately” more and more. That’s why I’m glad that someone finally set up a web site that explains that the word is spelled “D-E-F-I-N-I-T-E-L-Y”. You know, from the same root word as “define”.

I’ve been wanting to start a page that collects instances of people saying “jive” when they mean “jibe”, and calling it “Jive Suckas”.

A document we received recently at my job from an outside source contained the phrase “in you’re neighborhood.”

By the way, people, accordiOn. ACCORDION. It’s right at the top of the page!

I see a lot of sad examples of that, especially (for some reason) at Albertson’s.

Mcdonald’s all over had “hamburger wednesday’s” for a time.

But the funniest was the corporate-produced ad banner at the pizza place that announced “Michalob served here.”

Oh, worse: while I was writing that last one, an ad came on for “non-evasive” surgery at the local children’s hospital…
