I saw this book on a stand near the meat department at Publix (a grocery chain).

John Philip Green lives in my neighbourhood (the High Park area of Accordion City) and he noticed a couple of things about the listing for the house pictured above:
House Needs Major Renovations…House Is Not Heated. There Is No Water In The House. Great potential!…Pls Do Not Bring Children – It Is Not Safe.
It’s 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, asking $599,900. Let the bidding war commence!
My friend Lisa Goldman shared this picture on her Facebook feed (click on it to see the original at full size). It may look like a Diesel Jeans or Benneton ad, but it’s actually a Palestinian woman being arrested at Jericho checkpoint by two female Israeli border guards.
Without commenting on the woman’s innocence or guilt, I’d simply like to say that I hope I look I look this stylin’ when it’s my turned to get hauled away.
Here’s a song I never expected a marching band to cover: Rage Against the Machine’s Killing in the Name, as performed by George Mason University’s Green Machine.
Greg Knauss’ catchy tweet from earlier this week has become a popular graphic.
Here’s a great response to the trashing that the state of Iowa has been taking in the media during the recent Republican caucus: proud Iowan Scott Siepker’s very short and funny video, titled Iowa Nice, in which he explains that there’s more to the state than the “flyover country” image it’s saddled with.
The video above is the explicit version (yup, there’s some swearing); the video below has the cuss words bleeped out.
There’s a post on Reddit that links to this screen capture of a Facebook post:
In response to this post, a Redditor named “CSI_Photo_Enhancer” created this animated response, which features Yours Truly:
The original photo is from nearly a year ago today: it’s a self-portrait from my second-last day of my week-long at the hospital:
In case you haven’t read it, My Hospital Week is an interesting story. It’s hard to believe I almost didn’t make it out of there alive.
Anyways, thanks to CSI_Photo_Enhancer for making my day a little more surreal!
