The Simpsons episode with the soap box derby — Saturdays of Thunder — refers to a number of movies, starting with the title’s reference to Days of Thunder. In the stills I have, I recognize the Ben Hur references in the last two shots, but I don’t know what the other two films are. If you know, let me know in the comments!

Update: Some quick notes…
The Simpsons have paid homage to A Clockwork Orange in a couple of episodes, but here’s the most hilarious time — the “cupcakes” scene. I’ve seen Clockwork Orange so many times that when I first saw this Simpsons episode, I was laughing for a good ten minutes:

This Saturday, the MurrFurr Furries will take on the USS Republic Klingons in their second annual bowling competition at Midtown Bowl in Atlanta, Georgia. Attendees are encouraged to come in their suits, whether furry or Klingon.
