While listening to iTunes at work in “shuffle” mode, the Propellerheads’ cover of the theme from On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (from their album Decksanddrumsandrockandroll) came on. Like many of you, hearing a particular tune can take me back to a particular time, and that’s what this tune did.
Then it hit me — I was listening to this album during the less-than-fun summer of 1998 (chronicled partially in this blog entry) — almost nine years ago.
Damn, how time flies.

funny - this song just came up on my iPod too. I have a playlist of songs with playcount=0 - the “Never Heard ‘em on the iPod Shuffle” - guess I ripped the CD, but never listened to it…
My sister and I have a “what the hell happened to the Propellerheads?” chat every six months or so.

Well, my ‘98 was a lot better than yours, but damn, you’re right; almost 9 years ago.
Same kind of experience reconnecting with that album: Came up on my iPod, and I decided to listen to the whole album.
