Busking Gig Tomorrow
It’s probably a bad idea to busk at a place where you can buy fruits and vegetables (think about it for a moment),
but my friend Brenda has booked me to play accordion at the Parkdale
Liberty Farmer’s Market between noon and 2 p.m. tomorrow. Great tunes
and healthy produce will abound.
Open source guy Matthew Garrett has a little CafePress shop with some high-larious t-shirts. Well, they’re high-larious if you’re a geek…

I
don’t fit his revised-to-be-more-like-him “portrait of J. Random Hacker” and no, I didn’t ask him
to write my subculture’s Kama Sutra, thankyouverramuch.
If you haven’t yet seen The World’s Most Unintentionally Funny Real Estate Web Page, I’ve mirrored it here. Take a close look at the third photo down.

Everybody sing!
How much is that doggie in the window? (arf! arf!)
The one with the waggley tail
How much is that doggie in the window? (arf! arf!)
I do hope that doggie’s for sale
I must take a trip to California
And leave my poor sweetheart alone
If he has a dog, he won’t be lonesome
And the doggie will have a good home
How much is that doggie in the window? (arf! arf!)
The one with the waggley tail
How much is that doggie in the window? (arf! arf!)
I do hope that doggie’s for sale
I read in the paper there are robbers (roof! roof!)
With flashlights that shine in the dark
My love needs a doggie to protect him
And scare them away with one bark
I don’t want a bunny or a kitty
I don’t want a parrot that talks
I don’t want a bowl of little fishies
He can’t take a goldfish for a walk
How much is that doggie in the window? (arf! arf!)
The one with the waggley tail
How much is that doggie in the window? (arf! arf!)
I do hope that doggie’s for sale
I do hope that doggie’s for sale
…and anything you’ve sent to that email address in the past 36 hours
is probably stuck in email limbo. For the next little while, use the joey@joeydevilla.com address.
Quentin Smith has kindly offered to host the “Doom 3-Playing Teenagers
Screaming Like Hyenas in a Wood Chipper” video on a high-bandwidth
server. I don’t know how long he can do it for, so there are no
guarantees.
Thanks very much, Quentin! I raise a filet mignon on a flaming sword to you!
(And yes, the kids in the video were what convinced me to go and
get a copy of the game. As soon as I find out why my Radeon 9800 isn’t
working right.)
Latest Update: Quentin Smith is hosting the file here. Muchas gracias, Quentin!
Update: The server got hammered, so the file’s been taken offline.
Judging by this video [7.8 MB Windows Media], Doom 3
is either a very scary video game, or these two have a budding career
in horror-slasher films playing “the killer’s first two victims”.
Warning: You might want to turn down your computer speakers before playing this video. These guys scream like hyenas in a wood chipper.

I’ll bet these kids look exactly the same when they place the winning bid on eBay. Click the picture to see the video.
