The Tucows Job Fair that I mentioned last week takes place at No Regrets restaurant (42 Mowat Street) between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. today and tomorrow.
Between departures and the growth of our business, we need people. If you’re looking for any of the jobs below, you might want to come to the job fair. We’re looking for:
As I said earlier, the Job Fair takes place on Wednesday, February 15th and Thursday, February 16th from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.. Bring your resume, dress nicely and come on down!
I can’t find the online essay I once read about the nature of the relationship between the incredibly tough-to-please King of All Cosmos and the eager-to-please Prince from the quirky videogame Katamari Damacy, but I did find this Jacob Chabot comic showing the King asking the Prince to roll him up some dinner:
If you’d like to work at a leading internet company that provides services to thousands of ISPs and hosting services, registers one in ten of the big top-level domains, just bought an email company and is located in one of the niftier parts of Toronto, you’re in luck.
Here’s what we’re looking for. Wherever I could find an online job description, I’ve provided a link.
The Job Fair will be held at No Regrets restaurant on 42 Mowat Street, which is in the Liberty Village/Carpet Factory district near the corner of King and Dufferin Streets on Wednesday, February 15th and Thursday, February 16th between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.. Here’s a great photo that Ross took while walking about San Francisco on Sunday afternoon. For those of you not familiar with the city, it’s of the Transamerica Pyramid — probably the most recognizable piece of local architecture after the Golden Gate Bridge — as seen from Coit Tower.

Sunday’s meetup was a success — at peak, we were 16 in total, all having good food, good beer and great conversation. My thanks to everyone who came, and special thanks to Tara Hunt for helping me put the whole thing together!
Ross took pictures of the event, covering both the gathering inside 21st Amendment and the accordion performance outside. Thanks, Ross! I put the photos in an album, which you can view in album or slideshow format.

Tara wasn’t actually in town to attend the event, but Chris Messina, pictured below, stood in for her and also promoted the event locally. Thanks, Chris!
Back when I was an indie consultant writing custom software for clients, I used to use the expression “launch the pig!” to refer to finishing the process of writing the software and giving it to the customer. I just found some photos that cover a literal pig launch:

I have no idea when these photos were taken or who took them (I found them on an obscure private file-sharing site), but they depict the launching of a pig.

These photos are part of a series which you can see either clicking on any of the photos or clicking here.

In case you were wondering, the photos show the pig emerging from the launch unscathed:
