I can understand the preference for text form, but the one thing video can do better is demonstrate rhythm. I'd like to see the pacing of the slide changes.

As we know, comedy is timing.

Way to go on not killing them with powerpoint! Death by powerpoint is very very painful. Death by Darth Vader would be preferable. Video - movie maker can do a pretty kick ass job of that, yeah? Gets more senses in on the experience.

Definitely not video.

Video puts my brain in TV-mode. Learning stops. Higher functions shut down. Drool forms.

But I'm probably an outlier.

Almost definitely as video. A few days I watched a Lawrence Lessig talk that was presented the same way and that kept me interested for the entire time.

darryl: Alas, nobody shot video of any of the presentations at WordCamp. The best I'll be able to do is re-do the spoken part of the presentation and sync it with the slides.

Video form. It'd especially be nice to hear the audience response in the background. Sure to be plenty of chuckles.

Those damn PowerPoint thingies always put me to sleep. No way there'd be napping with this one.

Good tutorial on presentations. You nail a lot of the dos and don'ts I wish everyone would read.
