Paging Joi Ito! Paging Catspaw! Paging our CEO Elliot! Are you aware of The Dangers of “World of Warcraft”? The comic below will show you what they are!

(If you hadn’t figured it out, the comic is a repurposed “Dangers of Alcoholism” comic from the 60s or 70s.)

The problem with a game like warcraft ( or similar MMO’s ) is that it becomes an escape from real life for many people, the toon is more realistic then it appears to be. I know a “real world” couple that plap together, and it did not improve their relationship :D or social life for that matter.

How CAN you compete with the ever-evolving world of Azroth? You can’t… You just deal with it.

Oliver Meyn December 7, 2007 at 12:13 pm

This is great – I’m sending it to the guild now. Oopp, gotta go, running the Baron at work!

It never ceases to amaze me what a bunch of total and complete morons live on planet earth. Your species deserves only one right, extinction. We can only hope the Mayans were correct.

Angel December 23, 2007 at 6:30 am

I’ll show you PVP….

Hilarius.

haha great, but you used “effecting” which isnt even a verb. “Affect” is the verb, “Effect” is the noun, but great nun the less.

Most boring and stereotypical comic ever… How can people find this funny, it’s beyond me. It only proves that the person who made this comic has an adversity against WoW, but has no idea about the gameplay itself, and likes to inflict the bad thoughts about a game on everyone else.
No, I’m not a WoW fan, but I played it from time to time. And this game, just like any other game, only affects people with a lower IQ or those who can easily be manipulated and impressed. And they aren’t that many.

Also – the comic has some grammar mistakes such as ‘effected instead of ‘affected’. Plus, it’s not Azroth, it’s Azeroth.

Get your shit straight if you’re posting something.

I enjoyed it even if “one” has a stick up their ass for details. The FOR THE HORDE car crash was awesome.

See.. the glory of this thing is the fact that is was PROBABLY made by someone who plays WoW. It’s probably healthy.. That person makes us WoW players look good. They should be able to laugh at themselves. I do it all the time. :)

FOR THE HORDE!
Awesome.

Cegan December 18, 2008 at 3:49 am

ok… to all you people leaving comments like “this comic is like 2-3 years old”….. yea SO WHAT… the telephone is 200 years old and u still use it moron

bobgoeshehehehehehe December 22, 2008 at 3:56 am

Wow is ok if you play it once and a while like any game! Its a great game and I play it. Its the people that wont even go to sleep, or wont do things with their family for it. Then it becomes a problem like in this! It did make me laugh a little!

Wow Fanatic January 20, 2009 at 3:49 am

I don’t think playing WoW poses any threat or danger. Playing WoW something one should not to be afraid of. It is just a matter of control and living a balanced life. There is no such thing as WOW addiction. It’s a matter of CHOICE. Choosing to play WoW.

lollerskates

youre trying to act intelligent, but its makes me want to kick your mother in the face. you have no friends so stop trying to impress people with words like stereotypical. and grow a sense of humor you pathetic piece of shit. its meant to make you laugh not to dis the fuckin game. asshole. and no, im not a hypocrite for calling you an asshole because im just stating the obvious.
and this game is bad for you because its making you inactive. also youre only using the right side of your brain. the left side is used for organization and such, but since the computer is brainwashing you and youre spending the majority of your days playing the game using your right side, the left side becomes inactive thus losing all motivation for organization.
you fail.

anywho, its was funny =)

Ashley Herman March 27, 2009 at 9:48 am

That is too funny. And its soooooo true. I just broke my WOW addition of three years; and yes it was an addiction. As my guilds got better, the amount of chatter and goofing off done in chat diminished. And I found that that’s the part I enjoyed more than the actual playing. So I joined Facebook instead. And if I hadn’t, I would have never reconnected with the Accordian Guy.

Josephine D. Dell April 15, 2009 at 8:40 am

Hey man nice post, I’ve added you to my RSS reader :) I have a blog about making world of warcraft gold, you can check it out if you want :)

Goldbrand May 6, 2009 at 5:03 pm

@mason

Btw, lollerskates didn’t post that, he quoted from some guy, “One”. That’s why there’s a “/quote” there.

And yeah, it was pretty funny.

Goldbrand May 6, 2009 at 5:04 pm

And is “stereotypical” really that epic a word?

O_o;;

Milk August 11, 2009 at 10:28 pm

FOR THE HORDE

Gravemaster of Anachronos August 26, 2009 at 4:54 pm

Omg I’ve been playing wow for 5 years and my grades are always 19+ with the best mark being 20. Even if you are addicted to wow most people don’t suicide because of it, nor do they forget their families. (In fact wow found my a gf so I’m happy)

My husband was a total WoW addict when we were dating, and it caused serious relationship issues. It just took up too much time! Now, we limit game time and don’t do any scheduled guild stuff that means we can only hang out with our real-life friends at certain times. Plus, we play together sometimes, which is really a lot of fun for us.

Allison February 22, 2011 at 1:48 am

This game has destroyed a very dear friends life, he was fired from a union job that he was employed with for 21 years! He has lost his new truck, his mortgage is now 2 full months behind, he has no food, hasn’t showered in about 6-8 weeks……it’s awful! This man is truly a great person too! It’s killing me slowly to watch his life crumbling before my eyes.
I need advice and help! Please …

Ronnie March 17, 2011 at 12:48 pm

I think there has to be a balance between gaming and home life or the situation can get out of control.

Quick WoW April 27, 2011 at 5:10 pm

When I saw this comics I laughed my a** off!But the “I’ll show you PVP bitch!” just rofl’ed me to death, although doctor says I’m going to be alright XD Keep ‘em comming dude :))

mikachu November 1, 2011 at 2:06 pm

One – Sounds like the comic book guy from the Simpsons.

Allison – You cannot help a person unless they are willing to help themselves. Sorry to say this, but you might protest all you want however, it is his choice in the end whether to keep playing or not. It almost sounds like he has an addictive personality and hasn’t found the right balance yet. Some people get passed it, others don’t.

I enjoyed this comic a lot, it reminded me of the GI Joe parodies from FenslerFilm… Even though I play WoW, I thought this was clever, haha. PvP Bitch was brilliant.

Rosethorne June 25, 2012 at 11:13 am

I saw this a few years ago, and for some reason it popped into my head the other day and I had to find this comic! It still makes me crack up, even after the tenth read. :)

grinder machine December 21, 2012 at 4:23 am

“real world”…

Dogman15 February 13, 2013 at 4:22 am

This is why I don’t play WoW. I play Team Fortress 2.
